Around the World?

Stephanie of The Feast Crusade made some very flattering and complementary mentions of me in her last meme entry, and then sneakily tagged me to participate in the meme (kind of like an blog chain letter/poll for those unfamiliar readers) she was working on. And so...

1- Please list three recipes you have recently bookmarked from food blogs to try:

This is tough! Lately I've been saving recipes in my Favorites folder, and the numbers are mounting. In no particular order...

Dog-Eared Recipe 1

I have been happily poring over the archives at The Traveler's Lunchbox, and I have already jotted down the ingredients to make this salad, featuring Coconut Almond Snapper, Grapefruit, and Avocado. I can't wait. Seriously.

Dog-Eared Recipe 2

From Milk and Honey (a new favorite mentioned below), these Malted Chocolate Brownies, which I mentioned to Chris and now HAVE to make. Once the cookies are gone, maybe?

Dog-Eared Recipe 3

I'm totally cheating, because this isn't from a food blog. It was, however mentioned in one as a delicious recipe--Alton Brown's Granola is begging to be eaten with some fresh, plain yogurt with just a drizzle of honey.

2-A food blog in your vicinity

Kevin at Seriously Good makes me feel like I'm just a little kid playing in the kitchen sometimes, but I love learning from him. I have a secret desire to be his assistant during one of his classes.

3-A food blog located far from you

Lots of them, really! Right this second I'll go with Eggbeater, a gorgeous blog with incredible recipes, photography, and evocative, often introspective writing.

4-A foodblog (or several) you have discovered recently (where did you find it?)

I find most new food reads at Food Porn Watch. This week I've been reading the archives at Traveler's Lunchbox and Milk & Honey, two gorgeous blogs that make me want to get my act together.

5 - Any people or bloggers you want to tag with this meme ?

I'm really shy about this sort of stuff, and I also don't want to bother anyone out there. I'll leave it open to anyone that would like to reply, and if Kevin at Seriously Good wants to make a hometown contribution, that would be awfully nice.

Thank you for the very nice mention, and the good words about Eggbeater!!

I hope you are eating Goo-Goo Bars for me and watching the beautiful lightning I remember from Tennessee. And I am about to send your choc chip cookie link to my old roommate/gay "husband" as he is constantly on a quest for cookies that look and taste very similar to those...

Shuna, the compliments are well deserved! As for the lightning, we had a very crazy storm with lightning, hail, wind, rain, you name it, just the other day. Spring weather here is crazy.

Let me know how the cookies go over!

Marianne,

Thanks for the kind words. I'll see what I can do about the meme.
