Simple Pleasures
I just made myself a heaping bowl of exceedingly sweet peaches, sliced thinly and drizzled with a tiny bit of fresh cream. The result is heavenly, like being given permission to eat peach ice cream for breakfast--but for me, even better (frozen peaches make my teeth hurt).

Oh god, peaches and cream is one of my favorite dishes. It is so delicate and sinful.
My first favorite is though raspberries in cream- picked preferably from the bush in my grandmother's backyard and eaten from her tiny little blue speckled bowls.
What makes me happy today is knowing that in a few short hours I'm going to see Johnny Depp with gold teeth and more eyeliner than I'd use in a year. Sexxxxyyyy man :D

My simple pleasure today was to take a chunk of smoked gouda out of the frige--let it warm just a tad--and then devour it with a few crackers! *sigh*
I've got to admit that I favour white nectarines over peaches, but stone fruits with fresh cream is definetely a winning combination!
What's making me smile today? Knowing I don't have to do an emergancy baking session till the wee hours of the morning ;)
The peanut butter pancakes I had for breakfast this morning made me smile today.

marianne, just the thought of eating such a lovely peach is making me smile...although if i actually had a peach, i would be grinning like a cheshire cat for the rest of the day ;-)

Have you tried the Neptune peaches which are currently in season? I've come across two varieties. One with a fuzzy skin like a peach, and a second with smooth skin like a nectarine. Bon Apetit!
